7 Tips How To Meet Women

Story by: Staff
Photo: Model Karen Kassidy
www.karenkassidy.com

To meet single women can be one of the most difficult things that a guy has to do, but it doesn't have to be. Armed with a little confidence and these 7 tips you will be well on your way.

Tip #1
Always maintain a good appearance. Get a sense of style but don't go to the extreme. Always look your best and always have your teeth brushed, etc. You never know when the opportunity will take place so be ready and dressed nice. Wearing your old worn out grungy work clothes could be enough to ruin your confidence and your chances. Wear a nice pair of pants, nice shoes, and nice shirt.

Tip #2
Don't be afraid to set your sights high. if you think you're good enough for a girl, she will think you are, too. If you don't think you're good enough for a girl, then she probably won't think so, either. Hence, be confident. This shows other girls that you have good taste and that you're giving them a compliment just by talking to them.

Tip #3
Observe the guys that are getting attention at parties. Watch the way they keep their interest.

Tip #4
Relax, you must not overdo a play. Stop presenting yourself, and make her feel like she is presenting herself to you.

Tip #5
Learn to accept rejection. Rejection is part of the game and being rejected doesn't necessarily mean there's something wrong with you. Repeated rejections, however, should prompt you to evaluate yourself and look for changes.

Tip #6
Plan on where to meet. Grocery stores and gyms are great places to meet women. Laundromats are also a possibility. Bars are another place to find single women. Don't go to meet women at loud dance clubs. A nice sports bar is ideal.

Tip #7
Always be prepared. Talk to women wherever you go. It gives you practice and helps overcome the fears of talking to them.

The Cowboys have a song to sing too. It's called "Pants On The Ground and Around Our Ankles", because they got bent over and then sent home to clean up! How bout' them Cowboys!

Battle Tested Sade Releases New Single

New Single "Soldier Of Love"

Story by: Staff

Sade is back after an almost 10 year hibernation from the music scene. Miss.Adu (now 50 years of age, but looks 35) has finally released the lead single for her upcoming album of the same name "Soldier Of Love." The buzz started last spring when leaks on the internet started to pop up that she was in the studio working on new material. The then rumored November 09' release date has now been moved to February 8th 2010. As a huge Sade fan, I couldn't wait to hear her new single "Soldier Of Love" After listening to it a couple of times it was well worth the wait. The song starts with the sound of a north wind and then the sound of a sax and piano join in to form an almost high noon at the O.K. Corral feel. Kanye West drops in the beat with great drum rolls, but when you hear that voice. The voice that we all know and love, well, it just takes you to another place. A place that is familiar yet somehow different then we have ever went with Sade. The band sounds tighter than ever and Sade's voice is still pure magic. Kayne's production is nothing short of amazing. The only thing I didn't like was the vocal insert of "ho's" that seem to come from nowhere and quite frankly don't really work here. It seems to give the song a dated (mid 90's) club or party feel which is not what you feel when listening to this song. This is a battle song for love that could have been done without those vocal additions. All and all this is a strong lead single and we think one of Sade's best songs ever! (FIVE STARS) We can't wait to hear more from her.

Singing Sensation Susan Boyle

Apr 15, 2009 0 comments

Story: Taylor Alexander
Photo: deadline press & picture

I am a big fan of American Idol and talent shows like that. I believe this years Idol is very weak on the talent scale which has cause me to not really watch it a lot this season. I thought to myself with a little laugh that maybe all the talented people have been discovered already. Then I came across a video of a lady named Susan Boyle auditioning for "Britain's Got Talent." Who is Susan Boyle you ask? Well unless you have been living under a rock for the last few days or busy doing taxes like me (just saw it tonight), Ms. Boyle is a 47 year old unemployed lady from Scotland, who reportedly has not sung since her 91 year old Mother passed in 2007.

She has become somewhat of an overnight You Tube sensation! The San Francisco Chronicle has reported that she has had over 15.9 million views since this past Saturday (4/11/09). Her performance of "I Dream A Dream" from Les Miserable has taken the internet world by storm and brought me to tears (I watched it three times in a row). This is one of those teachable moments that we should never ever judge a book my it's cover.

Now Susan's got a website and fan sites popping up all over the place, but the talented singer has not let the instant fame go to her head. She was in church the day after the TV performance (Easter) where she was greeted by a rapturous applause from her friends.

She told the official Britain's Got Talent website: "It was incredible. Although we sing in church not a lot of them know how good I was, so it was a bit of a shock for them."

She is a beautiful example why we should never give up on our dreams no matter how long we hold them.

See her moving performance for yourself!

Obama Controls Your Internet

Story: Mike C.
Video: Philip DeFranco (http://PhillyD.tv)

Remember back in 2006, AT&T whistleblower Mark Klein told us about room 641A. The room where the NSA was receiving ALL of your internet usage. Emails, phone calls, Googling, everything in true Big Brother is watching you fashion. Well now does our government just want to turn the whole damn thing off? No more internet for you! Now go to bed without dinner!

Is Obama really going to turn off the Internet? Shouldn't he have to check with Al Core, creator of the internet first? Just a question.

Changing Gears...Need For Speed SHIFT

Apr 9, 2009 0 comments

Story: Staff

Does the need continues!

EA's under performing Need for Speed series will receive a three headed face lift with hopes of bringing the series off of life support systems.

We take our first look at EA's latest entry to help give the series a much needed shot in the arm. It will be called Need for Speed: Shift.

Shift is a first person racing simulation, featuring realistic handling of the cars geared towards "core" players. This will be released on PS3, PSP, Xbox 360 and PC platforms. The official release date for Shift is September 17 with a September 22 US release. Also this fall will be Need for Speed:Nitro for DS and Wii with Need for Speed: World Online (the free-to-play online title) due this summer in Asia and a Christmas release for the US. Will the "three headed speed monster" save the series from certain death or is the "need for speed" already long gone?

Rihanna Wants Chris To Apologize On Oprah

Apr 1, 2009 0 comments

Story: Staff
Photo: F Micelotta/TCA 2008/Getty Images, Fame Pictures, Inc.

A "sorry and saddened" Chris Brown may appear on The Oprah Show with Rihanna.

Sources told Look Magazine that 21 year old singer Rihanna has reportedly asked Chris Brown to appear with her on The Oprah Show where he will give a public apology to her.

Brown, who has been charged with felony assault and making criminal threats following his alleged physical assault on Rihanna in February has reportedly said no, but has recently changed his tune. According to the Look insider: "Chris said no at first , but brought himself some time by saying he needed to think about it with his mother Joyce."

Let's all remember what Oprah said about Rihanna/Brown situation earlier....

"Let me tell you why she got back with him. If you go back with a man who hits you, it is because you don’t feel worthy of being with a man who doesn’t hit you.

"If you think you are a wonderful person, somebody hitting you is really offensive to you."

Brown is scheduled to appear in court on the assault charges against Rihanna on April 6th.

Blender Magazine "R.I.P"

Mar 26, 2009 0 comments

Story: Taylor

It makes me very sad to hear that owner Alpha Media Group closed the doors on Blender Magazine today. Yet another lost in print media is taken under by the wake of our economic times. The Blender closing means 30 people lost their jobs today leaving Maxim as Alpha Media Group's solo publication. The April 2009 issue will be it's last.

It was reported last month by Thisis50.com that Vibe Magazine did not have enough money to put out their March issue. They somehow were able to put out a March issue, but those in this business could see it was very ad lite to say the least. Meaning with the lack of advertising in the March issue it is very doubtful that any money was made on that issue at all, most likely another number to add to the red. We will have to wait to see if an April Issue is printed.

This is a very tough business that appears to be getting tougher and tougher everyday.

Top Seven St. Patricks Day Drinks

Mar 17, 2009 0 comments

Staff
Here is our list of the top seven drinks to have on this St. Patrick's Day. We decided on seven because seven is lucky and the whole luck of the Irish thing and well it will make sense once you start drinking.

1. Shamrock- The shamrock has become a symbol of St. Patrick's Day, so what better way to celebrate than to drink one? This drink could prove itself strong, containing 1 ½ ounce Irish whiskey, ½ ounce dry vermouth, ½ ounce green crème de menthe, and 1 teaspoon green chartreuse. After a couple of these babys you will feel like a shamrock!

2. Green Beer - A lighter beer (i.e. Irish Amber, Irish Red Ale, Golden Irish Lager) + green food dye will create a “green beer,” a classic American spin on Irish drinks to celebrate the holiday. Looks the same going down as it does coming back up!

3. Irish Car Bomb – Another classic St. Patrick’s Day drink, it contains ½ pint of Guinness + 1 shot of whiskey + Bailey’s Irish Cream dropped into the pint. A favorite Irish drink in America, yet scarcely acknowledged in Ireland. You will be picking up pieces of yourself all of the next day!

4. St. Patrick’s Day Green Cocktail – 1 oz. Midori melon liqueur + 1 oz whisky sour mix + 2 oz Sprite mixed to create a sweet and festive drink that will knock you on your socks given enough opportunity. Sweet and fun. Then things start to get real ugly. Kind of like my ex-wife!

5. Irish Coffee - Dissolve granulated sugar (enough to taste) into 2 ounces Irish whiskey. Add hot coffee, leaving a half inch at the top of the glass (you need room for the cream). Top with whip cream. Instead of whip cream, you can pour heavy cream over the back of the spoon so it floats on top of the coffee. Good to the last drop. Then you drop!

6. Cork Comfort - Saint Patrick's Day will certainly include beer for many, so here's an alternative to the typical beer with green food dye. For this drink, mix 2 ounces peppermint schnapps (other flavors could be used) with 1 pint of beer. Pour the schnapps first and stir slightly.
1 oz. Irish Whisky
1/2 oz Irish Mist
Dash of Southern Comfort
Dash of Angostura Bitters

Combine all the ingredients in a shaker filled with ice, shake well and strain into a martini glass.
Look like a big baller with your martini glass until a few of these catch up with you!

7. Irish Buck

1 1/2 oz. Irish Whisky
Ginger Ale
Lemon peel

Pour whiskey into a highball glass filled with ice, twist the lemon peel over the glass and drop in the glass and fill with ginger ale. It will have you saying "what the buck happened to me" tomorrow.

Chris Will Receive a 10 Million Dollar Beat Down

Mar 8, 2009 0 comments

Story: Mike C.

Project "Mea Culpa" has been launched in a attempt to repair Chris Brown's image to the public, his fans and more importantly his endorsements. Access Hollywood has reported that project "Mea Culpa", which means "my fault" in latin will be a three part process.

First Brown will be writing a book (with Rihanna's help) on the topic of domestic violence.

Next, Chris and Rihanna will both be hitting the talk show circuit to defend what really happened (we doubt they will be on Orpah anytime soon after her strong words in this video) and to minimize the damage that was done when everyone saw pictures of Rihanna's post attack face.

Lastly, Chris Brown and Rihanna reportly have agreed to a $10 million dollar deal: If he so much as lays a hand on her, he will have to pay her $10 million dollars. I guess this is to prove to her that he is really serious about changing his behavior.

So if Chris has a "oh I'm really gonna beat your ass now" moment it will cost him a $10 million dollar beat down to his wallet. But will this work?

Mea Culpa is a latin phrase that translates into English as "my fault" Read the full story

Beauty Guru Ateya of Smuve Complexions

Mar 5, 2009 38 comments

Story: Taylor
Graphics: 19th letter

In a little over a year's time this You Tube beauty guru now has over 17,000 regular subscribers. They faithfully tune in to listen to her advise on hair, make-up and an occasional recipe or two. My kids want me to make another batch of banana nut bread with toffee chips, which I learned from watching her. Yes, it really is that good. But some of the best things that I have learned from her tutorial videos I don't have to share with my family. They are just for me. I have learned so much in just the last few months from watching her. I learned about Nu-Gro, sew ins, MAC products.....too much to list. She really makes it simple to follow along with her. When I watch her videos I feel like she is just one of my girlfriends talking to just me. She seems to be just very open and friendly. As my grandma used to say "shes good people." I was talking to a girlfriend at work a couple of weeks ago and she mentioned that she watched "Ateya" on You Tube too. That got me to start wondering if she really knew how many people she has helped? If she really knew how many lives that she has had an effect on with her smile, her downhome hospitality and her words of wisdom. Ateya is beautiful and entertaining. Her swang is breathtaking, her make-up game is soild as a rock and she can cook up a storm? Good thing we are all the way in California. Gotta keep that woman away from my husband (laughing).

Read the interview with Ateya.

Rather you think she uses too much heat on her hair or she uses the wrong products. Or you just don't like her but don't really know why. She's doing her thang! I did a Google search on "Ateya" and came up with 85,000 results pertaining to her and her hair and beauty regimens. Seems I am not the only one who likes what she is doing.

Some people may say after reading her interview that she is not even a professional hairdresser, why listen to her? Well Oprah studied communication in college, but I and millions of others like me take her advise on all kinds of things that don't pertain to her degree. Now before you write in saying that I am comparing "Ateya" to "Oprah" I am not. I am only saying that a degree on your wall does not make you the "end all know all" on a subject. I found Ateya to be sweet , knowledgeable and seems to be truly humbled by her success. I love me some Ateya and I have a feeling there are many others who do too.

BecomeMagazine.net:
Have you always been interested in hair?

Ateya: No...I was a tomboy(laughing). I was in all the sports coming up. Later on in high school (8th or 9th grade) I was more into hair. It was a thing all girls did in my hometown. We made sure we got our hair and nails done faithfully every Thursday after practice.

BecomeMagazine.net: It is hard to see you as a little tomboy. So when did you become a hair stylist?
Ateya: (laughing)...I am not a hair stylist...I have lots of family members that are licensed...but I watched and learned from them.

BecomeMagazine.net: Well then you learned a lot from them that's for sure. What made you decide to start making videos on You Tube?
Ateya: Wow...I began wanting to learn how to do it professionally. So I took MAC Classes at the Galleria Houston first. Then I was googling makeup and youtube popped up. After that I saw BeautyAllure (she is no longer with Youtube but we all MISS HER) and she was so nice and did makeup so well. So I was like I will do it one day. Then as I joke I did a video and it was ok. Then people wanting to know about MY HAIR. So I posted My Hair Regimen and its been a CRAZY ride ever since. But I thank god for it!

BecomeMagazine.net: BeautyAllure was great. Her real name is Nicky. She is still around because I see her on the MAC Addicts network I am on. Don't know why she quit doing videos, but thank you for doing yours. Okay, I gotta ask you. I read that the ladies of the Long Hair Care Forum (LHCF) had or have an issue with you? Is there or was there a beef between you & LHCF?
Ateya: No No No...no beef. Not on my part anyway. I got sooo many emails from my subscribers about LHCF was talking about me. I was like "Who is that"? So I went to the site....joined....and saw the comments and I was like ok....not that serious..in my opinion. So I did a video to tell every one I saw the comments and its fine. Everyone has an opinion and its ok. I was more like IGNORE any negative comments about me or anyone else cause it makes MORE MESS. So I stated on my video its ok and if they think I use too much heat I am sorry but its my hair and IT WORKS FOR ME. Then so many weeks later Sandra Rose has them on her site and the very next day....I got tone of emails that I was on Sandra Rose and I was like nooooo...but I emailed her and told her MY STORY and then it was all good. Cause I don't like people making up things so I just told MY SIDE and she understood more. But no beef...LHFC keep up the great work!

BecomeMagazine.net: Thank you for clearing that up for everybody. So how do you decide your video topics?
Ateya: That is hard...now cooking topics is a breeze but the makeup is like ok take a eyeshadow name and make up a phrase. Some I need to change but I been so busy..(laughing)

BecomeMagazine.net: Oh yeah. I know about busy. So you model too. How did get started in modeling?
Ateya: Yes I use to Model. Went to Barbizon of Houston Texas and graduated in 1998 and it was a great experience. But I learned more out of modeling school then in model school. So people KEEP YOUR MONEY!

BecomeMagazine.net: You heard her...KEEP YOUR MONEY PEOPLE (laughing). How did you learn so much about make-up?
Ateya: Honestly I am still learning. I just all of a sudden took it seriously and I love it. Hair and Makeup is in!

BecomeMagazine.net: Yes it is. You have a movie called "One Night Stand" What is it about?
Ateya: One Night Stand is not finished yet. The Director is a new dad and he has been taking time out to get the new feel of that and we hope to finish by May. And its about my husband...he has a One Night Stand...and I kinda set him up...but its a twist...so I cant tell it all..but I can say I cut off his....(*&^$) off.

BecomeMagazine.net: Whoa! You gonna have to let us know when it is done. So what made you want to do a movie?
Ateya: Always wanted to do that. In school I loved Drama classes but was so much in sports my schedule would not permit that. But now I am learning as I go and its great.

BecomeMagazine.net: I saw you on istardom.com and people were asking for your autograph. How do you feel about that?
Ateya: ARE YOU SERIOUS! I am going to check that site out now. I would be happy to do that. Dont make me cry....

BecomeMagazine.net: You have a new website coming. What is that going to be about?
Ateya: It will be more of a buy here type deal. When I wear earrings, ring, hat, they always say Ateya I want that? So now they can buy it on SmuveComplexions.com

BecomeMagazine.net: Wow. That sounds really great. Can't wait. So did you think you would have over 17,000 subscribers when you first started?
Ateya: NO never....Not one for that matter. But GOD IS GOOD!

BecomeMagazine.net: Yes he is. Who's famous head of hair would you most like to work on and why?
Ateya: Taraji P. Henson. She is on her A game this year. I would love to put her on a half wig cause I always seen her with her hair so I would Upgrade her to A+ with that.

BecomeMagazine.net: Who's famous face would you most like to put make-up on and why?
Ateya: Lil Kim. I love her to death! She is truly a diva! I just want to make up her my way....thats all I will say...and hope she loves it!

BecomeMagazine.net: Lil Kim if your listening.........holla! What do you want to say to all your fans out there?
Ateya: Thank you all for sticking by me. You are more than I ever expected! You are some TRUE ride or die subscribers and I love all of you from the bottom on my heart! Keep God First!

Thank you Ateya so much. You are wonderful!
