Here is our list of the top seven drinks to have on this St. Patrick's Day. We decided on seven because seven is lucky and the whole luck of the Irish thing and well it will make sense once you start drinking.

1. Shamrock- The shamrock has become a symbol of St. Patrick's Day, so what better way to celebrate than to drink one? This drink could prove itself strong, containing 1 ½ ounce Irish whiskey, ½ ounce dry vermouth, ½ ounce green crème de menthe, and 1 teaspoon green chartreuse. After a couple of these babys you will feel like a shamrock!

2. Green Beer - A lighter beer (i.e. Irish Amber, Irish Red Ale, Golden Irish Lager) + green food dye will create a “green beer,” a classic American spin on Irish drinks to celebrate the holiday. Looks the same going down as it does coming back up!

3. Irish Car Bomb – Another classic St. Patrick’s Day drink, it contains ½ pint of Guinness + 1 shot of whiskey + Bailey’s Irish Cream dropped into the pint. A favorite Irish drink in America, yet scarcely acknowledged in Ireland. You will be picking up pieces of yourself all of the next day!

4. St. Patrick’s Day Green Cocktail – 1 oz. Midori melon liqueur + 1 oz whisky sour mix + 2 oz Sprite mixed to create a sweet and festive drink that will knock you on your socks given enough opportunity. Sweet and fun. Then things start to get real ugly. Kind of like my ex-wife!

5. Irish Coffee - Dissolve granulated sugar (enough to taste) into 2 ounces Irish whiskey. Add hot coffee, leaving a half inch at the top of the glass (you need room for the cream). Top with whip cream. Instead of whip cream, you can pour heavy cream over the back of the spoon so it floats on top of the coffee. Good to the last drop. Then you drop!

6. Cork Comfort - Saint Patrick's Day will certainly include beer for many, so here's an alternative to the typical beer with green food dye. For this drink, mix 2 ounces peppermint schnapps (other flavors could be used) with 1 pint of beer. Pour the schnapps first and stir slightly.
1 oz. Irish Whisky
1/2 oz Irish Mist
Dash of Southern Comfort
Dash of Angostura Bitters

Combine all the ingredients in a shaker filled with ice, shake well and strain into a martini glass.
Look like a big baller with your martini glass until a few of these catch up with you!

7. Irish Buck

1 1/2 oz. Irish Whisky
Ginger Ale
Lemon peel

Pour whiskey into a highball glass filled with ice, twist the lemon peel over the glass and drop in the glass and fill with ginger ale. It will have you saying "what the buck happened to me" tomorrow.
